Grammy Fashion Faves!

I have to admit… I did NOT watch the Grammy’s last night, however, I had to update myself on all the fashion this morning! There were some interesting choices as usual for the Grammy’s but I will focus on my Best Dressed of the evening.

1. Best Dressed (are you really surprised?) Gwyneth Patrow wearing Stella McCartney: Sleek, modern, sexy…just plain fab…and a WAY better version of a slinky black cutout dress than Rhianna.

2. Taylor Swift in Zuhair Murad: Some might say that this was “a lot of dress” for her but I thought she looked stunning and the back made it fresh and young.

3. Katy Perry in Elie Saab: Loving how she used her blue hair to choose a lovely powder blue dress! So angelic and funky at the same time. GORG!

4. Kelly Osborne in Tony Ward: I haven’t been all that impressed with Kelly’s grey hair lately…it really doesn’t work with anything! It seems like she added a little pink  to it which is such a huge improvement. The beaded gold one shoulder dress looks flawless on her. A+ Kelly!

5. Malin Akerman in Cushie et Ochs: It isn’t as dressy as my other pics but she looks amazing! Love the dress!

6. Carrie Underwood in Gomez-Garcia: Lovely. I would have maybe changed her hair a little bit but the dress and accessories and makeup were perfect!

Checking out all the Grammy fashion just got me more excited for when the real heavy hitters come out… the Oscars! Stay tuned…Liz and I will be recapping our fashion best and worst dressed!

Much Love,

Dee

If money was no object…

…this would be my Spring shoe collection. 15 beautiful pairs.

Of course some more impractical than others but each wonderfully crafted and chosen by ME for my fantasy Spring 2012 shoe collection. I will now take a moment to happily visualize myself wearing each pair….. ahhhh… that has to be what heaven feels like!

These are all chosen for different reasons. The Alexander McQueen because well… I just can’t get enough of that iconic skull and the Hefner loafer is so chic and comfortable! The 60s inspired platforms and sandals… yep that is my go to era! I was a 6 foot tall super model dating a rock star in my last life. The Charlotte Olympia wedge? I have been so inspired by all these retro tropical prints and we saw so much of it at Market I had to choose them. I could go on…

In no particular order and because a little piece of my heart belongs to each one…here they are!

What would your fantasy spring shoe collection look like?

to market, to market

January 30th, 2012 § 1 Comment

Liz and I just returned from Market and our Summer buy is complete! Here is a sneak preview of some summer styles that we fell for! After countless meetings and racks of new fashion there is one thing I am sure of… COLOR is in! We saw everything from neon denim to glorious summer prints. I think the whole world is ready for a bright year! There is something so exciting about heading out to buy Spring and Summer when the weather is cold and dreary in Chicago. Seeing all that color made my longing for sunshine and endless summer days so much stronger. Don’t forget to check out our new website and all our new Spring styles that are in stock now!

Well Camdenistas…it’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for! We have just launched our brand new website! This project has been a labor of love and we could not have possibly completed it without the help of the following team:

Lauren Okura www.laurenokura.com

Our always hilarious, hard-working, and generous behind the scenes friend…

  Matt Stone www.goodgrowth.com

Happy Thanksgiving Camdenistas!

Tomorrow we gather with family and enjoy food, friendship, and fashion!? Well at least we enjoy the type of fashion that allows us to eat that second slice of pumpkin pie :o )   I am thinking leggings, tunics, and my latest obsession…Midi skirts! This look is so feminine and takes me back to another era! I love the Midi skirt for all seasons. This winter pair one with your favorite boots or pumps and cardigan or blazer. Check out my favorite looks this week from celebs who definitely got it right!

We have a few fab options in the store right now so don’t forget to swing by our Black Friday sale 7AM-4PM this Friday!

I hope you all enjoy this beautiful holiday!

Much Love,

Dee

Chicago Fashion Incubator Runway Show

The Camden team had such a special night this past Tuesday. We attended the first of 4 shows for Chicago fashion week…the Fashion Incubator Runway show. The front row is definitely the way to go! We were able to see every little detail and take in all the fabulous creations from some of Chicago’s own emerging designers.

We had a wonderful evening mingling with friends and associates in the industry and immersing ourselves in all that this amazing city has to offer!

Some highlights from the show include collection Modahnik, www.modahnik.com and Cettina, www.cetinadesigns.com. Modahnik definitely stole the show with bright graphic tribal prints and modern silhouettes…definitely a Camden fave! Cettina was beautifully chic with feminine shapes and sorbet shades…a major feel good collection!

Attending the Incubator Runway show was so inspiring! We were mesmerized by all the hard work that these young designers put in to pull together these collections.

A big Congratulations to all of you!

Much Love,

Dee

McQueen…

Every season I looked forward to seeing what Alexander McQueen would pull from the depths of his mind, heart, and soul. He was a true innovator and a huge loss to the world of fashion. Sarah Burton, McQueen’s predecessor, has taken all of the creativity and imagination that we loved about Alexander and infused her femininity and style into the new collection. The Spring ready to wear collection literally makes me faint with admiration. It is lovely and strong with inspiration coming from so many directions. I am so in love with the oceanic feel of all the pieces and the floaty architectural shapes.

If anyone was worried that Sarah would not deliver, they were surely mistaken. She has completely surpassed all expectations! The Alexander McQueen collection still remains…my ultimate obsession.

Much love,

Dee
